My First Toonlet |

So I was working on another post when I remembered about this Toonlet tool that was reviewed on infodoodads blog. I figured this would be a good a time as any to use it for a blog post I was working on. Close to an hour later I have what you see above. Creating a character is just as addicting as creating Miis on the Wii. The actual blog post I was working on is on hold til tomorrow, but I decided I can give my two cents about Toonlet instead.

Toonlet is an online tool that allows you to create your own little comic strips. No artisitic skills are necessary, since most of the characters are put together using premade pieces (not quite sure if you can upload your own drawings yet…). If your feeling particularly lazy you can hit the random character button, though results may vary. You also need to create separate moods for each character you create (happy, sad, angry, etc.)
I still need to look at all the features, but it looks alike a great online tool that’s most importantly FREE. I also see a lot of potential for instructional use. I wasn’t quite up to speed about embedding toonlets by other authors so here is a link to one that I came across that is almost an instructional library toonlet:
but I like the idea of using these toonlets for a little humor, but at the same time providing some useful information for people. I tried looking around for other library or librarian related toonlets, but came up with nothing through their Google Customized Search. The Library Techisms was the only thing I came across so far. I highly recommend this for any educators out there who want to spice up their online/print documentation or course materials.
I will end this with one last toonlet I created… -KF
