Today is the first step in the School of Library Journal’s “All Together Now: A 2.0 Learning Experience”, starting with the topic of blogs. Now being a blogger already, I am quite familiar with the blogging basics, but there were still a few interesting bits in the first step.
First, with a little reminder from a Tweet from mradomski, I remembered the Common Craft show with their informative low tech videos that explain all sorts of Web 2.0 concepts. Here’s an example explaining Blogs that was used on the first step of the All Together Now program.
You can find a lot more at the Common Craft Store, where you can license higher quality videos and get access to more topics that are not necesarily free.
Second, I learned about EduBlogs hosted blogging service for educators. I read about them a while back, but lost track. Similar to this blog, it runs on the WordPress software, but its hosted as EduBlogs to create an online community of education bloggers.
So that’s two new things that I’ve already got from a program that I thought might be too basic for me. I’ll keep a running report of anything else I find during the 6 week program.
